Post Consumer Brands has once again shown their commitment to the health of our community by donating $8,000 to the Mobile Outreach Program at Community HealthCare Connections. Heather Pontius, a member of the Post Foods grant committee presented the check to Barbara Travis, Executive Director, at the Community HealthCare Connections office.
The Mobile Outreach program of Community HealthCare Connections is an extension of the Nursing Clinic of Battle Creek, which has helped thousands of Calhoun County residents to access free medical care over the last 28 years. The primary purpose of the Mobile Outreach program is to bring needed medical screenings/education and Navigation services to adults residing in Calhoun County that are unable to visit a medical facility due to lack of public transportation, inability to travel, lack of a vehicle, lack of English proficiency, homelessness, or lack of knowledge about the services that can be provided.
“Community Healthcare Connections has undergone many changes in the last year. Through supportive groups like the Post Consumer Brands committee we are able to continue our outreach efforts in the community for those who have barriers that make it hard for them to get to us for assistance,” said Barbara Travis, Executive Director of Community HealthCare Connections. “The Mobile Outreach program is supported solely by grants and donations, so we are very thankful for contributions like these that help to support our efforts.”
